The Plugged Lie – January 4, 2010

by M. Wangerin on January 7, 2010

in The Plugged Lie

As the 2010 PGA Tour season gets underway, the year’s first Plugged Lie challenge will test your knowledge of the week’s SBS Championship.

The Plantation Course plays to a length of 7,411 yards for the SBS Championship. What is the correct Rating / Slope combination?

What year did the Mercedes-Benz Championship move to the Plantation Course?

How many aces have been recorded in tournament history?

Which player did champion Bobby Mitchell defeat in a playoff during the 1972 tournament?

Which company has NEVER been a corporate sponsor of the tournament?

What two-time Masters champion helped Bill Coore design the Plantation Course?

What was 2009 Champion Geoff Ogilvy's margin of victory?

Last question for this week... What qualifies a player to play in the SBS Championship?

Golf Limericks

by M. Wangerin on January 4, 2010

in Humor

Two original compositions:

There once was a ball from a sleeve

Whose behavior you would not believe.

When I told it to bite

It responded with spite,

To the joy of my opponent Steve.

There once was a golfer named Woods

Who always would win when he should.

Then the last PGA

Y E Yang won the day,

when nobody thought that he could.

I know, don’t quit my day job! Anyone have any other SFW limericks they’ve written??
